Extended Health Care and Dental Benefits Booklets

Extended Health and Dental Benefits exist as the result of many rounds of negotiations over the past 35 or so years since teachers won the right to collectively bargain. The benefits listed in the bookelts below and in the Collective Agreement exist because they were deemed by current and previous members of our Bargaining Unit to be priority items for negotiations and were won by bargaining teams at the bargaining table on behalf of those members.

Benefits that are a part of our Collective Agreement are paid for by the Toronto District School Board with funding received from the Ministry of Education through its education funding formula. Benefits claims are currently administered by Manulife Financial as contracted by the Toronto District School Board.

FGI is the company that administers and runs the confidential counselling and information services for the EAP.

Access Information:

The Employee Assistance Program website requires you to enter a username and password to access it. They are not person specific, they are specific to the employer. The reason for this is so the EAP can gear the information on that part of the website to a particular employee group. The username for STBU members is tdsb and the password is tdsb101.
