Newer* Teachers' Staffing Workshop

Among the anxieties faced by people new to the teaching profession is the prospect of being declared surplus to your school or the board.  The Executive of your Bargaining Unit has worked very hard to ensure a transparent and objective process is followed by the TDSB for staffing each year.

Each January just before the staffing surplus process for the following school year begins, we offer a Staffing and Surplus Procedures Workshop for newer teachers.  While this workshop is open to any member who wants to learn more about the processes and protections contained in the Staffing and Surplus Manual (Blue Binder), it is specifically geared to our newest members who may feel particularly vulnerable at this time of year.
